We know most of you are probably reading this going “winter is not even close to being over yet!” While it is true that we may be a little ahead of the curve already – transitioning your outdoor area from winter to spring is going to take little more time and effort than most people realize. That is why we are going to give you a few tips on what you should be doing to get your patio spring ready!
Give it a good clean
Now if you have escaped the winter without any snow, lucky you. However, for many people their patio is going to need a little attention after a winter period. Remove all sticks, leaves and other debris from your patio. Now is also the perfect time to check whether there are any cracks or nails popping out of your deck. Especially if you have pets or small children, this is an important step. Now is also the perfect time to check for mildew and whether or not your patio needs resealing.
Prep your furniture
We have previously discussed getting your patio furniture ready for winter, so if you followed these steps you should be good to go. Even if you uncover your furniture or take it out of storage, you still need to do some minimal cleaning. Remove any dirt and dust by hosing it down and read our other article for how to give your furniture a good, solid clean. This is going to make your luxury patio furniture look like new. And if you don’t have good furniture yet, now might be the best time to find some deals!
Take some time to refresh and rearrange
We know the springtime is the time of year when nature hibernates from her slumber, and it might just be the perfect time for you to pick some new ways to change your patio layout. Change the angles of your rugs, move your sofa around, freshen things up a bit and play with the layout of your patio. Now is the perfect time to see whether the layout from last year still suits what you want this year. This is also the time to start updating your area – are there specific styles that you think have lost their appeal? Add something new to keep it appealing and fresh!
Add some green
While the weather might be right to start planting some new seeds, you can plan beforehand. Your outdoor space might look amazing with some new glazed pots. Perhaps your outdoor side table would love some company from vases or small terrarium. This is going to help liven up your outdoor space and make it look that much more attractive.
